Learn to Can & Make Some Jam!
Join us in the Farm Bus kitchen and learn how to can foods using the hot water bath method. In this hands-on course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to start stocking your pantry with delicious canned foods. It’s simple, and definitely more fun with others! Together we’ll make a yummy jam with strawberries. This will be a no sugar recipe that’s sweetened with grape juice.
The class will be taught by Jasmine Sirianni, owner of Casa Bella Gardens. She’s a self taught canner with 15 years of experience! She loves having a pantry full of canned goods that preserve the bounty of her garden and farmer’s market finds. She’s excited to share her passion for canning with you!
Hosted by The Farm Bus Bistro, the class will be offered at Sunflower Farm & Arpeggio Vineyard, and will include a garden lesson about growing strawberries and the opportunity to pot up a plant of your own to take home!
The cost for the course is $65 and each participant will take home:
A jar of delicious handmade strawberry jam
Jasmine’s favorite jelly and jam canning recipe book
A strawberry plant for your garden
The knowledge of how to stock your pantry with canned foods
